Mechanical Principles

Time: November 29, 2025 View:

The course "Mechanical Principles " was first introduced in 1950 when the Beijing Mining College established the Department of Mining Machinery Engineering. Over its 58-year development, it has evolved into an important technical foundation course for majors such as Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, and Measurement & Control Technology and Instruments. With the rapid advancement of science and technology and the emergence of numerous mechatronic products, the teaching content and format of "Mechanical Principles" have correspondingly adapted. The laboratory for this course occupies an area of 981 m², complemented by a 210 m² computer room capable of accommodating four classes simultaneously for practical sessions. Additionally, a 150 m² Student Innovation and Design Center has yielded numerous achievements, providing material conditions for cultivating talents at multiple levels. The outcomes of this course development have strongly supported the university’s national key discipline of "Mechanical Design and Theory."
