Program Overview:

This program aims to cultivateseniormechanical engineering and technical talents with solid foundations in natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and engineering technology. Students will acquire professional knowledge in the fundamental principles, methods, techniques, and equipment in mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing, and mechatronic control. Through training in engineering practice and research, graduates will engage in engineering design, mechanical manufacturing, product development, production operations, technical management, teaching, andscientificresearch within the field of mechanical engineering. They will develop a strong sense of economic, safety, and environmental considerations, alongside humanistic and social literacy, social responsibility, engineering professional ethics, and an international perspective. They are expected to become technical backbones or managerial backbones in their respective fields.

Program Features:

Based on industry characteristics, social talent needs and students' learning interests, this major adopts a categorized and hierarchical training model. The curriculum is divided into five different modules: Mechanical Design and Automation, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Mechatronics, Robotics Technology, and International Studies. Meanwhile, some core professional courses are delivered in three different language tiers: Chinese, Bilingual, and English-Only. Students can choose different courses according to their own development directions.

Duration and Qualifications:

This is a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Engineering degreeupon graduation. Approximately the top 20% of outstanding graduates are eligible for direct admission (without entrance examinations) to Master's programs in Mechanical Engineering. Exceptional students may be directly recommended for Ph.D. programs. The Mechanical Engineering program is recognized as aNationalSpecializedProgramand aJiangsu Province Brand Program. It boasts one National Key Discipline, four Jiangsu Provincial Key Disciplines, one National Postdoctoral Research Station, four doctoral programs, and four master's programs.
